The Mougá Shelter
The Mougá Animal Shelter is dedicated to caring for pets that need a new family and a new home. It is open 24/7 all year round to provide care and rescue lost or abandoned pets.

Its team of attendants is experienced in responsible adoption management and they do their best to help the dogs and cats that arrive at the shelter find their ideal new family as soon as possible.
One example of the more than 200 dogs and cats that find a new home every year is Duna, now called Hope, who is living a happy life with her new family. They adopted her on the spot even though her limited mobility caused by abusive treatment has confined her to a chair.
The municipalities of the Commonwealth of Ferrol (Ares, Cabanas, Cedeira, Fene, Ferrol, Mugardos, Narón, Neda and Valdoviño) are fully aware of the importance of protecting the rights and welfare of animals. They are also mindful of the fundamental role that individuals play in responsible ownership and the need to condemn and prosecute abuse and neglect.
If you see an animal wandering around without his owner, please call 112 or the local police so that the shelter can arrange for him to be collected.
If your companion gets lost or you wish to add another pet to your family through adoption, you can contact the shelter and visit during opening hours.
